Naruto makes his first appearance along with Hokage and his teachers Iruka and Mizuki, who later duel it out over Mizuki tricking Naruto into stealing a sacred scroll and bringing a huge scare to the whole village. Then Naruto meets some of his friends, of which we meet Konohamaru in chapter 2 and in chapter 3 we meet Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi. After this, the Naruto series really kicks off when Kakashi tests his new underlings for the first time.
