Chapter 017: Preparation for Battle Naruto and company pass the test given to them by their instructor, and now can go on their first-ever mission! This mission involves escorting a drunk, irritable old man back to his home in wave country. On their way they are ambushed by a pair of ninjas from Mist Village called the Demon Brothers. They "kill" Kakashi, and force Naruto and his team into combat for the very first time. Luckily, Kakashi was alive the whole time and comes in to save the day. Deciding to continue forward on their mission, the team reaches their destination, and is forced into combat with the demon of Hidden Mist Village, Momochi Zabuza. After fighting with him for a long while, Kakashi's fight is ended abruptly by a young boy wearing a mask who assassinates Zabuza and takes him away with him. Kakashi, having used his Sharingan Eye too much, runs out of chakra and collapses. Once he recovers, he realizes something very fishy about the way Zabuza was killed. |
